Osprey Technologies'
Composite 6,000-psi
High Pressure Tube Assembly
August 11, 2010
As noted previously, we successfully passed the first series of adhesive testing of titanium to carbon-epoxy tubing, and Pressure Cycling Test to 10,000 psi. We are moving forward with testing our filament-wound tubing, and qualification testing continues.

We are an engineering consulting company, with emphasis in…
automotive, marine, recreational, and industrial applications.
With over 20 years of experience with structural composite materials, we have a proven reputation for excellence. Our expertise, along with our knowledge of the many fabrication processes, allows us to consider all aspects of your project requirements to ensure optimum design and quality composite products.
Our expertise in design and analysis includes analyzing strength, stiffness, and mass of structures, as well as evaluating material and fabrication costs for specific production volumes. Our up-to-date knowledge of the composite industry, combined with our awareness of material availability, allows us to alert our customers to potential lead-time issues early in the design process.
Our in-house fabrication capabilities allow us to offer custom fabrication to meet the specific needs and requirements of our customers. We sell composite structural tubing in various sizes, and provide composite sheets/plates and sandwich-core construction. We also specialize in the design and fabrication of high pressure tubing. Please contact us anytime to discuss your project needs, and to provide quotes for custom fabrication. We look forward to working with you.
Satisfied customers, such as Boeing, Ratheon, Orbital Sciences, General Dynamics

The composite applications we support are as varied as our customers’ missions. We offer a depth of knowledge that customers may not have in-house. We tailor our efforts to meet your needs, whether that is a supportive role in the design and analysis phase, managing your program from design through development, or custom fabrication to meet your composite requirements.
Please contact us for a personal quote. We look forward to working with you.
Ever wonder where we got our name? The photo above shows two Osprey feeding their newest chick.
The Vertical Pool– Osprey was involved in the structural analysis of this pool during the development phase. Their motto is: “Inspired by the need of returning warriors, this rentable pool for human to canine, from trauma patient to the physically fit, provides the convenient means for daily exercise privately, at home, for the 4–6 month post-event rehab period, away from public scrutiny and the bacterial issues of shared water." Pursuing ISO 9001
Osprey Technologies continues to strive towards new levels of quality as we pursue our ISO 9001 standards and certification. This systematic approach to quality strengthens Osprey's competitive edge, and ability to better serve our customer.
ESA's SQUID
What’s possible when a group of scientists are inspired by a famous superhero and a giant creature from the sea? How about a new technology for stopping drivers in their tracks?
Osprey Technologies recently fabricated composite parts for ESA's (Engineering Science Analysis Corporation) SQUID (Safe Quick Undercarriage Immobilization Device). Click on Popular Science Magazine to learn more.
Composite Materials in Aerospace Applications In the aerospace industry, a significant effort is being made to replace metal components with more structurally efficient composite components to reduce mass, weight, and improve the reliability of aerospace fluid systems. Osprey Technologies and Convergence Engineering Corporation have teamed to develop various composite high-pressure lines and fittings for composite-to-metal transition hardware components used in aerospace applications...
An article by Guy Norris in Aviation Week (April 6, 2009), "Plans for Future Re-Usable Space Launch X-Plane Hatched" discusses the latest Air Force Research Laboratories' request for information. Osprey Technologies was involved in the earlier vehicle developments that led up to, and included, the family of FAST (Future Responsive Access to Space Technologies) vehicles, including the FAST and FAST4C.
Osprey Technologies teamed with Convergence Engineering Corporation and Conceptual Research Corporation for the structural design of the FAST vehicle. Osprey Technologies, with Convergence Engineering, performed the structural design and analysis (FEA) of all of the composite primary structures.
Osprey Technologies also provided a unique design for the composite cryogenic propellant tanks. The design features included:
-Propellant tanks as part of the primary structure
- Volume optimization using an internal bulkhead to separate the propellants
- Foam core that serves as both a structural member and thermal barrier
- Compression molded composite tank bosses
